Beautiful Vintage Brooch by New England Glass Works Jewellery
Bold, beautiful and explosive in its beauty, this brooch from New England Glass Works Jewellery company will have every eye riveted on you! Can you handle it?
New England Glass Works operated in Providence, RI from about 1911 to 1958. It became Rice Weiner in 1938, yet continued stamping its jewellery with the original "NE" Chalice logo. Distinctive cast metal pieces are often in filigree floral and foliage designs set with colourful glass stones.
The slightly domed circle-shaped brooch presented, circa the 1940s, in cast metal, akin to an anodized finish, features raised, interconnected floral blossom rosettes. Blue, purple, red and green oval glass stones dominate the surface, while small multi-colour Chaton rhinestones dot the blossoms.
This beauty measures about 2 1/2 inches in diameter with a 1/2 inch dome or profile and the largest oval ruby red glass stones are approximately 12 millimetres x 8 millimetres. Peripheral oval stones are about 9 millimetres x 6 millimetres. The brooch in excellent vintage condition. The reverse of the brooch is signed "NE" within a chalice logo. The pin's design, style, materials, and construction, in conjunction with the chalice logo and available references indicate New England Glass Works as the maker. You'll be thrilled to own this sensational offering so don't wait too long.

Unless the item is listed as a 'new' item, evidence of normal age/use should be expected. The photos on our listings are never stock photos as we take all of our own photos, so what you see is what you get. Please look over your desired item closely before purchasing.
Now, we mostly sell vintage jewellery and "new old stock" that has never been worn, that come out of various estates. This means that it has been pre-owned. That means that it could have some light wear, and possibly some tarnish. IF there are any flaws, such as missing stones, or damaged stones, we will definitely make that clear in the listing description. We just need our customers to understand that we generally do not sell brand new items.
Our shop has a good working knowledge of vintage jewellery, as most of what we sell has been pre-owned and will thus have some form of wear. Please use common sense when bidding. We cannot possibly cover every detail in a listing, and will thus describe the listings as best as we can. For example, shades of blue are subjective and so are concepts of what looks "too good" to be vintage, or what is "too worn" to be acceptable to a collector, as everyone has their own tastes.
If you have specific needs, do your part, and contact me.
We do not normally clean many of our vintage items as most antique jewellery collectors and enthusiasts prefer that they are kept with the integrity of the piece and patina that occurs naturally over time. This particular piece was gently cleaned with a soft cloth. No harsh chemicals were used to clean this piece.
