Bold, beautiful and explosive in its beauty, this brooch from New England Glass Works Jewellery company will have every eye riveted on you! Can you handle it?
New England Glass Works operated in Providence, RI from about 1911 to 1958. It became Rice Weiner in 1938, yet continued stamping its jewellery with the original "NE" Chalice logo. Distinctive cast metal pieces are often in filigree floral and foliage designs set with colourful glass stones.

The slightly domed circle-shaped brooch presented, circa the 1940s, in cast metal, akin to an anodized finish, features raised, interconnected floral blossom rosettes. Blue, purple, red and green oval glass stones dominate the surface, while small multi-colour Chaton rhinestones dot the blossoms.

This beauty measures about 2 1/2 inches in diameter with a 1/2 inch dome or profile and the largest oval ruby red glass stones are approximately 12 millimetres x 8 millimetres. Peripheral oval stones are about 9 millimetres x 6 millimetres. The brooch in excellent vintage condition. The reverse of the brooch is signed "NE" within a chalice logo. The pin's design, style, materials, and construction, in conjunction with the chalice logo and available references indicate New England Glass Works as the maker. We do not normally clean many of our vintage items as most antique jewellery collectors and enthusiasts prefer that they are kept with the integrity of the piece and patina that occurs naturally over time. This particular piece was gently cleaned with a soft cloth. No harsh chemicals were used to clean this piece.
